• The term "Nighthawk Nation" was first used by Kyle Lyddy (NHS and UCONN graduate) as a title and theme for his personal NHS Athletics website.

• The website flourished as MANY hours were spent updating information, keeping all of Newtown up to date on what was happening in the world of NHS Athletics.

• As Kyle graduated, and as the years passed by, the website soon passed by the wayside...

• In 2012, NHS Athletic Director Gregg Simon brainstormed an idea to bring Nighthawk Nation BACK to NHS...

• The plan is to have former NHS ATHLETES who participate in athletics at the college/university level to submit a BIO, HEADSHOT and ANSWER A FEW QUESTIONS on the link below.  The Athletic Department will then honor these Student-Athletes by placing their Nighthawk Nation Profile outside the main gymnasium in a case for the community to view.
